Why Mummy MOT® Pelvic Floor Assessment course?
This course will cover all aspects of performing an assessment with external palpation and internal vaginal examination of pelvic floor muscles. The course is designed to give an overview of the internal and external anatomy of the female pelvic floor and lumbopelvic hip complex. By working our way from the “outside inwards”, it will guide practitioners through systematic assessment of the pelvic floor both externally and internally, relating this to the functional anatomy and physiology relevant to conditions seen in the postnatal client.
Aims
- Review and consolidate anatomy of the external pelvis, joints, ligaments and muscles
- Understanding the association between pelvic floor complex and lumbopelvic region
- Enhance palpation skills of the external pelvis and female pelvic floor complex
- Consolidate knowledge in relation to the postnatal client
Pre-requisites
Eligibility & Professional Verification
Our Pelvic Floor Assessment Course - Part One is designed for qualified healthcare professionals who are currently registered and practising as a physiotherapist, osteopath, midwife or GP.
To maintain high professional standards, all participants are asked to provide their relevant professional registration number at the time of booking. This may be with the HCPC, GOsC, NMC or GMC, as applicable.
We recognise that some applicants may not yet hold a UK registration number. We are therefore happy to consider applications through the following alternative verification routes:
Internationally trained and practising healthcare professionals
If you trained and currently practise outside the UK, you will need to provide appropriate evidence of your professional training and current professional status in the country where you practise. Our team will review this documentation before the course.
Final-year students approaching qualification
If you are in the final year of an appropriate healthcare degree and expect to complete your studies and graduate within the next few months, you may be eligible to attend. You will need to provide a formal letter from your university confirming: -
- Your enrolment on the relevant programme.
- That you are in your final year of study.
- Your expected completion or graduation date.
Booking without a UK registration number
If you are applying through either alternative route, please enter “student” or “international”, as appropriate, in the professional registration field. Please do not enter “N/A” or “not applicable”.
You must also provide the supporting documentation described above. All documentation is reviewed as part of our pre-course quality assurance process, and eligibility must be verified and approved before attendance.
If any information or documentation provided at the time of booking is subsequently found to be inaccurate, misleading or unverifiable, we reserve the right to withdraw the participant’s place on the course.

After Training
After completing this Pelvic Floor Assessment course, you will be provided with a completion certificate.
Completing this course will mean you meet the prerequisites of the Mummy MOT® Training;
- Have experience in performing a pelvic floor assessment.
- Be comfortable and competent in performing a basic vaginal examination.
Refund Policy
In the event that you later cancel your place, refunds will be issued according to the following terms:
- More than 90 days before the event: Full refund minus a £47 admin fee
- More than 30 days before the event: 75% refund
- More than 14 days before the event: 50% refund
- Less than 14 days before the event: No refund is given
