The course introduces the principles of rehabilitation specific to the perinatal population, examining common symptoms and conditions, how we can use advanced functional assessment techniques to inform our exercise prescription.

Course Aims:
By the end of the course you will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of anatomy and physiology of the perinatal population, as well as common postnatal conditions and symptoms.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the current best available evidence in perinatal exercise.
3. Conduct functional pelvic floor and abdominal assessments and interpret your findings alongside presenting symptoms to inform your treatment plan.
4. Assess the readiness of a postnatal patient to return to higher level activities.
5. Demonstrate safe exercise programming for a perinatal client within the scope of your role as a health care professional, underpinned with an understanding of the precautions for the individual.
6. Critically reason your exercise programming and progression based on the condition or dysfunction.
7. Objectively measure the success of an exercise programme, adapt to client feedback and identify when to refer onto other medical professionals.
How will the course run?
Once you have enrolled in the course you will gain access to our online learning platform. Here you will find the online modules to complete prior to the practical day (the course dates you enrolled for).
The in-person days will then put all the theory into practice, after this practical day you will have a case study assignment to complete.
A full brief will be given on the practical day and materials needed to complete on the online platform.
Pre Requisites
- A degree level qualification in physiotherapy or osteopathy
- Clinical experience in assessing and treating the perinatal population
- Competent in internal vaginal examination with previous clinical experience*
*If a health care professional is specialised in musculoskeletal care without the internal vaginal examination skill set then they are welcome to apply for the course as a Fitness Professional.

How do I pass the course?
To ensure participants have sufficient knowledge to apply on the practical day, the online learning includes short theory tests, which must be passed prior to the practical days. After the completion of the practical days all participants will be required to submit a case study assignment to pass the course and be eligible for Mummy MOT Fit Pro status. Once the case study assignment is passed you will receive your certificate and details of how to apply to become a recognised Mummy MOT Fit Pro.

Refund Policy:
In the event that you later cancel your place, you will be funded in accordance with the following terms:
· More than 90days before the event: full refund minus a £47 admin fee.
· More than 30 days before the event: 75% refund.
· More than 14 days before the event: 50% refund.
· Less than 14 days before the event: No refund is given.
